Went for a drive yesterday to points south of home. Mister Bear really wanted to drive along the sea cliff bridge and it was magnificent. We ended up at the beach and of course it was rainy and cold - what else would you expect in the middle of winter?? - so we sat in the kiosk and had hot chips. The kids were desperate to build sand castles and managed to construct at least three before it got just too cold to hang out in the wind. Took lots of pictures, but as my dad had borrowed our memory card for their holiday I had to use the traditional film camera. Finished the roll yesterday so should be able to get them developed this week. We also stumbled across this and have plans to visit soon.
The trip wore me out though and today I am paying the penalty. Mister Bear and the kids are at church and I am snuggled up under the doona with the heat pack on my feet...well, at least I will be when I get off the computer!

...be able to walk into any room in my house and look around with pleasure rather than dismay.
I am making progress - very, very slow progress - but progress never the less. Tonight I actually feel really good because in the last 24 hours I have:
- organised a matter relating to life insurance that's been pending for a while
- posted a letter that should have been posted 3 months ago
- had some questions answered about superannuation that have been pending for about 3 years, and <insert drumroll>
- emptied the box of filing that has been sitting variously on the desk and filing cabinet for at least 6 months and possibly longer. It took most of the afternoon, but it is done.
That feels really, really good.
I know that this blog post is a bit obscure, but only if you didn't study Early Childhood like I did. In Music we learnt this song that if memory serves me rightly went something like this:
Here we go Willobee, Willobee, Willobee
Here we go Willobee, all night long
I went to the doctor, to the doctor I said
Oooh, ahh I've got a pain in my <insert body part>
This is my long-winded roundabout way of saying that I went to the doctor today. I was in his office for precisely 3 minutes and then shuffled out again, clutching a script for antibiotics.
Was he interested in my symptoms? No.
Was he interested in how long I have been sick? No.
Did he do a thorough examination? No.
Was the waiting room full of patients that he had to see? No.
How many patients were in the waiting room? One. Me.
Am I impressed? You can answer that one for yourself.
It seems that I am going to have to try to get an appointment with my regular doctor next week anyway. At least she listens and pays attention.
Humph.
I am a complete sucker for anything *new*. If it has a *new* label on it anywhere, you'll like as not find it in my shopping trolley. It's a source of constant amusement to Mr Bear, but I just can't resist new stuff. Ajax have a new, wonder, bathroom cleaner out - saw it advetised yesterday- and I reckong I'll give it a go. If it works anywhere as well as it does on the telly, then they've sold me.
Then this morning I get an email about Vox. Of course I signed up for a Vox account. It's new, it's interesting, it's going to streamline the whole blogging process. Chickafinty still lives and will do for the time being, ut I am very much looking forward to seeing what Vox will do for me.
